STEM Maker Lab Monday Living Spaces (2 part)

STEM Maker Lab is where children can explore who they are as a maker, an inventor, and an entrepreneur. They discover that having a curious mindset that embraces experimentation and creative problem solving is as important as tools and equipment. There are 6 themes incorporated into a two-part series for grades 2-4 of STEM Maker Lab.  This two-part series will focus on Living Spaces - Invent a nest for a fantasy bird or a personalized space station Living Spaces - Part 1 - 11/11 Inspiration - Teams are introduced to a challenge and discover the power of brainstorming. Create – Bring ideas to life using a Create, Test and Recreate learning approach. Intellectual Property – Discover the value and importance of protecting an idea. Living Spaces - Part 2 - 11/18 Tech Tools - Take the invention to the next level using tech tools like a 3D printer and electret microphones. Marketing - Learn about the process of bringing an invention to market by exploring different marketing challenges. Entrepreneurship – Complete a business plan outline and pitch the product. These foundational concepts form the structure of the "idea-to-market" cycle that has been inspired and validated by the National Inventors Hall of Fame Inductees—our Nation's Greatest Innovators.
